Dr. Sharon Lu has been practicing dentistry in the Southern California area for over 13 years. She grew up in Southern California for most of her life and received Bachelor of Science degree from University of California of San Diego (UCSD). She obtained her DDS degree from University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Right after receiving her DDS degree, she immediately entered into General Practice Residency (GPR) at The Long Beach Veterans Affairs Medical Center, which focused on treating medically compromised veteran patients on all aspects of dentistry from Restorative, Periodontic, Oral Surgery and Implant Dentistry. After completing GPR residency, Dr. Lu practiced Restorative and Implant Dentistry for many years before specializing in Endodontics. Her extensive knowledge in comprehensive dentistry and dental experience serve her patients to have the best possible care and treatment outcomes.
Dr Lu is currently board-eligible and is in the process of obtaining her board certification with the American Board of Endodontics (ABE). She dedicates many hours each year through attending continuing education courses to keep abreast of the changes in medicine, dentistry and endodontics. She feels that it is extremely important to perform dental treatment that is supported by the scientific literature (evidence-based dentistry) and to remain up-to-date with the latest dental technology. She believes her patients deserve the very best, so she strives to continually improve.
Her career is enhanced by her involvement in local and national dental organizations. She is currently a member of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), the American Dental Association (ADA), The California Dental Association (CDA), The Orange County Dental Society (OCDS), and The Southern California Academy of Endodontics (SCAE).
When not working, Dr. Lu enjoys spending time with her two daughters, her husband and their furball, Mesan. Mesan is an adorable, friendly peekapoo. They love to travel and spending time with family and friends.
